How we retrieve and grade the evidence

Every answer is built on a transparent, auditable pipeline. We never generate citations from a language model's memory — each reference is a real record retrieved from a verified evidence source, and any citation that can't be matched to a retrieved record is discarded before you see it.

1. RetrieveYour question is run against verified clinical databases (Cochrane, PubMed/MEDLINE via Europe PMC, NHMRC and Australian guidelines). Real candidate records are returned — never invented.
2. GradeEach record is classified against the hierarchy of evidence: Level I (systematic reviews & meta-analyses), Level II (RCTs), Level III (cohort/case-control), Level IV (case series), Level V (expert opinion).
3. Prioritise by jurisdictionRecords are weighted for relevance to Australian practice — Australian sources (1.0), international (0.8), non-matching national guidance (0.5) — so locally applicable evidence surfaces first.
4. Sort & synthesiseResults are ordered by evidence level, then recency and jurisdiction. Only the retrieved records are passed to synthesis, and every claim is cited back to one of them.
